Central multi-room extraction from kitchen, bathrooms, utility, WC
Continuous trickle with on-demand boost (light switch, wall switch, PIR, humidistat options)
Helps reduce condensation, odours and mould risk throughout the home
Constant-flow control maintains target airflow to assist cross-ventilation in underfloor/subfloor voids
Set up between paired intake/exhaust grilles to create directed airflow across the void
Helps dilute moisture and musty odours in suspended timber floors (not a dehumidifier)
Note: Underfloor setup should follow good practice: maintain clear air paths, use weatherproof cowls with insect/rodent mesh, and ensure penetrations are sealed.
Brand: Nuaire — MEV-ECO (central MEV) & MEV-ECO-CF (constant-flow)
EC motor with low specific fan power for quiet, efficient running
Trickle & boost ventilation; multiple control inputs supported
Compact case with 100/125 mm side/top spigots (model dependent)
Flexible siting: loft, cupboard or ceiling void
CF variant: auto-balancing constant-flow for stable air volumes (ideal for apts/new-build and assisting underfloor crossflow)
Supports UK Building Regulations Part F when designed and commissioned correctly
Nuaire MEV-ECO or MEV-ECO-CF fan unit
Mounting feet/straps & fixings, blanking caps (model dependent)
Installation & commissioning instructions
Central MEV: houses, bungalows and apartments consolidating multiple fans into one quiet unit
Underfloor assist (CF): properties with suspended timber floors needing assisted cross-ventilation in the subfloor void
Central MEV (MEV-ECO)
Site the unit in a loft/cupboard/ceiling void with access.
Use smooth rigid ducting and gentle bends; keep the kitchen branch shortest.
Fit ceiling extract valves in wet rooms; discharge via a weatherproof external terminal.
Provide a fused spur and commission trickle/boost to design rates.
Underfloor Crossflow Assist (MEV-ECO-CF)
Pair external intake and exhaust grilles to establish a cross-path through the void.
Duct from the CF unit to the grilles; seal penetrations and protect with mesh cowls.
Set target air volume on the CF unit; verify airflow at terminals; maintain clear pathways across the void.
This configuration assists natural ventilation; it is not a sealed dehumidification system.
Vacuum/clean extract valves and inspect duct seals periodically.
Check the unit for dust and clean as required; replace any internal filter pads if fitted (model dependent).
Test boost and sensors seasonally; re-verify settings after any changes.
Type: Central MEV; variants MEV-ECO (variable-speed) and MEV-ECO-CF (constant-flow)
Motor: EC, continuous operation with boost
Controls: Light-switch boost, wall switch, timer, PIR, humidistat (model/accessory dependent)
Ducting: Multiple 100/125 mm inlets; discharge spigot size model dependent
Electrical: 220–240 V AC, isolate via fused spur
Mounting: Loft/cupboard/ceiling-void, rubber feet or suspension straps
